Ikkyo Demonstration by a 3-Month Member Promoted to 8th Kyu

This is an Ikkyo (一敎) demonstration by a member of Ansan Dojo who has been training for three months and was recently promoted to 8th kyu.

At Ansan Dojo, members progress from 10th kyu → 9th kyu → 8th kyu over the course of three months. Through this promotion process, they focus intensively on learning the 12 fundamental kata (forms) of Ikkyo.

The techniques demonstrated by the 8th kyu member in this video are as follows:

• Ikkyo against Shomen-uchi

• Ikkyo against Gyaku-hanmi Katate-dori

• Ikkyo against Katate-ryote-dori

Each KAU dojo pursues strong fundamentals and enjoyable growth through a structured curriculum, clear instruction from the instructor, and a culture of open communication.

※ Individual demonstrations conducted during regular classes at Ansan Dojo are part of the training process, allowing practitioners to express and review their level of technical proficiency and attention to detail on their own.
